The Insurance Authority (IA) supervises insurance companies and insurance service providers in the Kingdom. It took over insurance supervision from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), reportedly in 2024; the date it became sole regulator is being verified.

SAMA instruments that name insurers (the CSF and the Financial Consumer Protection Principles) may continue to apply to insurers until the IA replaces them. This is being checked.
