Telecom and IT services are licensed or registered under the Telecommunications and IT Act (Royal Decree M/106) and its Implementing Regulations. Cloud and data centre services are registered, not licensed. Digital content platforms need a licence, registration or notification.

• Telecom and IT services: licence or registration under the Act and its Implementing Regulations (MCIT Ministerial Decision 13).
• Cloud computing: registration under the Cloud Computing Services Provisioning Regulations v4 (Qualifying, Class A, B or C).
• Data centres: registration per data centre under the Data Centre Services Regulations (CST decision 502/1445).
• Digital content platforms: licence, registration or notification (CST decision 505/1445).
• An operator offering both colocation and cloud needs both registrations.
