On 17 September 2026 SDAIA launched five data and AI capability frameworks:

training;
academic;
K-12;
professional standards;
a cross-discipline university curriculum.

They include a Data and AI Academic Program Standards Framework (with the Education and Training Evaluation Commission) and a Data and AI Professional Standards Framework (with the Digital Sector Skills Council of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development). These may replace the 2025 Saudi Academic Framework for AI Qualifications and the National Occupational Standard Framework for Data and AI.

SDAIA also launched the first cycle of the National AI Index, which measures government AI maturity across seven areas.
